A lifelong resident of Kenora, John attended the University of Manitoba graduating with his B.A. in 1983 and LL.B. in 1986. He joined the firm after being called to the Bar in 1988 and became a partner of the firm in 1992.

John is an avid outdoorsman, and when not in the office can often be found at his camp with his wife and three boys. He is a past Board Member and Chair of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation and has been involved in the NWO Elk Restoration Coalition since its inception.

John is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
