Legal problems can be a challenge to most of us on at least one occasion in our lives. Often the challenge begins with finding the right lawyer for our needs, particularly in the smaller communities of Northwestern Ontario.

Shewchuk, MacDonell, Ormiston, Richardt & Fregeau LLP recognized this and the even more limited access to legal services with the untimely passing of Glenda Bishop. In the hope of being of service to Bishop’s clients and other area residents they opened their Red Lake Law Office at the beginning of June 2006.

Shewchuk, MacDonell, Ormiston, Richardt & Fregeau LLP, a Kenora based law firm, has been in practice for over a century. It has a solid record of meeting the ever-changing needs of its clients in their business and personal matters.

Each partner specializes in different areas of law, and the result is a full service firm that offers its clients a wide range of legal services. The practice represents individuals in their personal and business concerns, residential and commercial real estate transactions, trusts and estates, litigation and matters that draw on the firm’s expertise in numerous other branches of the law, including family, commercial, environmental, construction, labour and municipal law.

Shewchuk, MacDonell, Ormiston, Richardt & Fregeau LLP’s main office is in Kenora and they maintain regular office hours at their Red Lake office on Howey Street. Each week, on a rotating schedule, one of the partners is in the Red Lake office for at least two days, but all partners are accessible to all clients. The office opens Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Requiring the services of a lawyer may not be something any of us eagerly anticipate. However, having the option of retaining a lawyer without leaving town became easier with the opening of the Red Lake Law Office of Shewchuk, MacDonell, Ormiston, Richardt & Fregeau LLP.
